Sneek Peek at the Heaven Sent Collection

My newest grandson is just a little over 7 weeks old. Riley Patrick was born on December 9th and is about the greatest Christmas gift we could ever wish for. Although I have taken a break from designing to help my husband with his business, there was no way I could not scrap some of the wonderful photos we have taken of little Riley. So I did end up designing a kit although it has taken quite a while to get it all pieced together. I will be debuting it on January 31st, along with a newsletter freebie created from this new collection.

Taking a Little Break From Designing

If you've wondered where I've been for the last month, I am taking a break from designing to help out with my husband's business. He has a small company that sells a very unique product that he invented to the screen print industry. The business has started to take off and I am going to give him a hand. In addition my youngest son's first baby is expected this week, (5th grandson for me!) and with the holiday season I didn't want to over challenge my fibromyalgia.

Digidesignresort and the owner , Monja have been so supportive during this time and my store is still up and opened for business. I just won't be doing the normal amount of design work, promotion and won't be nearly as active in the scrapbook community. I have been working on a new kit for my grandson, Riley's arrival though. It will be called Heaven Sent. Look for it to release later this month.

Depending on how my health holds up and how much help my husband still needs will determine how long a break I take. I expect to be tied up for at least 4 more weeks. I will re-evaluate at that time.

Meanwhile there is still plenty going on over at Digidesignresort! The new designer collab, Keepsakes is out. Fantastic kit you won't want to miss...go check it out!

I've Been Published

Check it out! Scrapbooking News and Reviews is publishing 2 of my layouts in it's Volume #4, Issue #9/10. The new issue debuts the evening of September 18th.

The first layout is called Footballs In The Air and contains an action shot of my grandson Brendan catching a football. I created this layout using my Football Fever Collection. This collection is perfect for all the upcoming football games and football parties!

The second layout called Summertime was submitted for a "pink" layout call. This is a recent photo of my grandson Ryan with Grandma Betty at his brother's T-Ball game. This layout was created using my Summer's End Collection. This is one of my favorite collections and is perfect for the last of your summer photos!

The Watercolor Memories Rewind Collection was loosely inspired by the song "The Way We Were" sung by Barbara Streisand. I thought it was such a wonderful way to describe the way our mind works with our memories. In the beginning they are vivid and fresh and as time goes on they fade to a softer, water colored image of the happier times. This is a remake of an earlier kit by the same name. Please check your stash BEFORE purchasing to be sure you want the newer version. Many of the papers are new, the best of the original kit still remain. And most of the elements are new. If you are a regular at DDR you may have received two of the papers, 2 cluster frames (very different from the cluster frame pack) that contain 2 of the flowers and 1 leaf from the element kit and 1 flower and bead string. This was packaged under the name "Legacy of Love". It has a similar color palette, so any of the parts you have to that kit might blend nicely with this collection. Winner of the 2011 Blizzard Layout Challenge is...

Blizzard 2011 Challenge & Freebie

I thought it would be fun to see blizzard photos from everyone's area so I thought I would host a challenge. What no blizzard where you live? No problem just use photos to show the weather conditions where you live during the blizzard days. But if you live someplace warm ... post those layouts at your own risk. Dish Up a Special Treat for Your Valentine!

As some of you already know my sister, Pat, is a jewelry designer. Creative talent seems to run in the family, lol! This year Pat decided she wanted to sell her designs on the Internet. Since I was already doing this with my digital scrapbook kits I gave her some guidance and set up her blog and this gorgeous piece of jewelry was her way of thanking me.

Now no need to be jealous, Pat has just introduced this new design on her bog yesterday, my birthday. She's calling it the Colleen (I'm very honored Pat.) If you want to wow that special someone in your life...this little diddy will do the trick.

The shade of the pearl beads is just a bit softer than in the photo, but the luster is magnificent. In between each pearl bead is a smaller silver bead with what I might call two "end caps." I'm not a jeweler so it might have another name, lol! Anyway the magic in this bracelet begins in that space between the pearls. There are two beaded silver rings that move freely over the silver beads. The detail it adds to the bracelet is spectacular and the slight jingling sound that they create is wonderful. The clasp has a beautifully detailed heart and all the findings are very detailed. If you are a fan of Judith Ripka jewelry this piece will blend flawlessly with her pieces. I have a few pieces and I always wear them together.

Let Me Call You TweetHeart...& a Chance to Win Some Jewelry!

Another sneak peak for you. For Valentines I have a new TweetHeart Collection. I am just in love with this kit. I was inspired by Elizabeth Rudnick's book by the same name, Tweet Heart. The book is in the unusual but very contemporary format of emails, blogs and tweets. I haven't read it yet but it has rave reviews calling it a romantic comedy. Hope to pick it up this weekend. Anyway this got me thinking...One of the top selling Valentine's candy are Conversation Hearts. These were always a big hit with my kids when they were young. It seems that "back in the day" these little bit size candies with a message were kinda like "tweets." Short and sweet comments. Thus TweetHeart was the result. A kit with lots of conversational hearts and a darling little birdie as the focus and word art filled with twitter shorthand and "tweet" sayings! Look for the Tweet Heart Collection to be in the DDR store on Saturday!

Sneak Peak at the February Collab at DDR: It's Love!

February is right around the corner and along with that comes Valentines Day. Who won the Journey to the Soul "Keys to My Store" drawing?

On Thursday December 16, 2010 a drawing for The Keys To My Store was held at Random.org. There were 105 entries from 30 contestants. You can verify the results and that your DDR user name was included in the drawing by going to this page at random.org. You must enter your DDR user name (all lower case letters) to verify your entry.

A first place winner was drawn with 2 runners up in case for any reason the 1st place winner doesn’t respond. The winner will have until December 31st to email (colleen7699@gmail.com) me for a coupon code. The coupon will be good for 100% off all products in Colleen Lynch, Digital ARTchives’s store for 30 days.

Layout deadlines will be the last day of the month.
